McCollum reached 40 points when Trail Blazers defeated Bucks 118-103


PORTLAND, Ore. – CJ McCollum scored 40 points and Portland Trail Blazers defeated Milwaukee 118-103 on Tuesday night and handed Bucks his second loss in ten matches this season.

McCollum, who entered a shot average well below his career averages, went 17 for 26 off the field and added six assists. Evan Turner had 16 points and 11 rebounds from the Blazers bench (8-3).

Giannis Antetokounmpo led Milwaukee with 23 points and nine rebounds. Brook Lopez shot 6 points for 10 points out of 3 points and finished 22 points.

In the third quarter, the McCollum show. He scored 19 points and made Bucks rookie guard Donte DiVincenzo fall on the crossover to move before he hit the basket, sending the crowd into madness.


CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Kemba Walker had 29 points and seven assists, extending his strong start to the season when Charlotte defeated Atlanta.

This was the 16th victory of the Mavericks at their last 17 meetings with the Wizard. Wesley Matthews added 22 points to Dallas, and Harrison Barnes had 19 points and 13 rebounds.

John Wall led the Wizards with 24 points. Otto Porter Jr. and Bradley Beal had 19 each but Beal was 1 in 9 with 3-point attempts.

Washington in the first half defeated 24 and in the 21st half, but in the second half drove 11 Dallas's turn and returned to play for the three best players.

The Wizards were six years old when Smith drove around Dwight Howard to hit the strike and chopped off DeAndrea Jordan for the dunk that put Mavs up 101-93 with 5:33 on the left. (Backslash)

NETS 104, SUNS 82

PHOENIX (AP) – Caris LeVert reached 26 points, D'Angelo Russell added 15 and Brooklyn beat beat Phoenix.

Nets won their third game in the last four, while the Sun lost eight out of nine.

Devin Booker led Phoenix with 20 points, but he did only 6 out of 21 shots. Deandre Ayton had 15 points and seasonally high 13 rebounds.

Brooklyn kept the Sun in low season and field shooting at 34.6 percent.
