Vice President Zhang Chunxian headed the delegation to visit Thailand-Xinhuanet
Xinhua News Agency, Bangkok, November 7 From 4 to 8 November, at the invitation of the Thai Legislative Assembly, Zhang Chunxian, Vice Chairman of the National People's Congress Committee, led a delegation to Thailand to meet with the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Thailand, Pengbei and Deputy Prime Minister Weisan.
Zhang Chunxian said that Chinese and Thai families have brotherly friendship. In recent years, both parties have made a thorough "belt and road" collaboration and have brought tangible benefits to both people. We need to put in place an important consensus achieved by the leaders of the two countries, to strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, such as legislation, and to continually promote the development of a comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Thailand.
Pengbei and Weisanu said that friendship between Thailand and China has a long history. The Thai side spoke highly of the One Belt, One Road initiative and congratulated China for successfully organizing the first import fair and hoped to continue to boost exchanges and cooperation in different areas.
Zhang Chunxian also met with representatives of foreign Chinese in Thailand, visited Chiang Mai University and visited teachers and students of the Confucius Institute and visited the One Village One Product project of the Thai royal family aimed at fighting poverty. Lu Jian, Ambassador of Thailand, and Ren Yisheng, General Consul of Chiang Mai, took part in the event.
