Next year, Bras will be detained; plans to save € 3.5m in Riga

When the Latvian prison system reform was resumed, it was decided that the Brasas Prison will be closed next year next April.

Such changes have led to the need to ensure the proper use of state budget funds and to promote the general security of society. Savings of € 3.5 million will be aimed at improving the infrastructure of other prisons and increasing wages for employees. As a result of the closure of Brasão Prison, convictions will be convicted of transferring to appropriate prison facilities, and workers will be offered additional opportunities to work and services in the Riga and Riga areas. The reform of the Latvian prison system is aimed at introducing a modern punishment in a secure prison infrastructure, informing the Prison Administration.
