At first, scientists thought this very unusual form of the object was just a strange asteroid. Such a strange, very elongated shape has no precedent of about 750 thousand. asteroids and comets in our solar system where they were created.
The asteroid was recorded in the Hawaiian telescope and was named Oumuamu, meaning "messenger" in Hawaiian territory. The object is about 400 m long and only about 40 m wide. However, some attributes change the views of scientists, and it is assumed that perhaps Oumuamu is not an asteroid, but a space civil ship that lives in other parts of the world
This theory came to the researcher after it was noted that the mysterious object suddenly increased its speed and left the solar system in January this year, writes cnn.com.
"Given the artificial origin, one of the options is that Oumuamu is a light space modern space technology," writes Astrophysical Journal Letters. Scientists believe the space probe can be powered by solar energy.
Astronomer Abraham Loeb of Harvard University is convinced that the prototype spacecraft is already built on Earth.
Along with colleagues, Loeb is convinced that the unusual Oumuamu route and tremendous speed can mean that this spacecraft is no longer in operation.
Oumuamu is the first object observed in the solar system that is supposed to come outside our planetary system.
"We were fortunate to find our telescope in the right place at the right time to see this historic moment," said NASA Planetary Defense Officer Lindley Johnson.
