Discarded sites of Aedes aegypti in Bella Vista and San Luis del Palmar



The Ministry of Public Health of the Province, via the Directorate-General for Epidemiology, carried out dengue operations in San Luis del Palmar and Bella Vista and removed several breeding sites for the Aedes aegypti mosquito.
In San Luis del Palmar, the work was done after a storm that bounced off the weekend. In this context, Gustavo Fernandez, Director of Epidemiology, said that "the promotional team plus the vector brigade traveled through evacuation centers, provided repellents, leaflets, alcohol in the gel, and checked that the insect-free sectors." In some cases, the insecticide was used in indoor aerosols and fumigation outdoors, "he added.
Finally, public health was also in the 15th Embarked Varied Fishing Contest held in Bella Vista. "There was a vector stall at the party held in this city, where repellents and information brochures on vector disease prevention were provided to people who approached the fishing tournament," said Fernandez. In these tasks, Fernández was accompanied by a deputy director for zoonoses and vector control of the Directorate-General for Epidemiology and Regional Pathology, Luis Insaurralde.
