On January 1, 2019, the legislation changing the method of determining the retirement age becomes effective. The new legislation sets the retirement age in years and months and applies to insured persons born after 31 December 1956.
The retirement age under the new legislation is the first to be reached by the insured person born in 1957 by the completion of 62 years and six calendar months.
"Extending retirement age does not continue to apply to insured persons whose current legislation has allowed them to maintain a reduced retirement age. These are insured persons who have worked the required number of years in a job classified in the 1st category, I. and / or II. category and women depending on the number of children raised. The reduced retirement age remains in line with the new legislation, "Social Insurance spokesman Peter Višváder said.
Information on insured persons not covered by retirement age can be found on the Social Insurance Office website.
The insurance company is currently completing the adjustment of the retirement calculation calculator to take account of the new retirement age rules and could provide up-to-date information to all interested parties beyond 31 December 2018.
